Umeed ka Karavaan in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

We will soon be on our way to Sibu, Malaysia, to attend the Participatory Design Conference (11-16 August 2024), carrying with us 'Ummeed ka Karaavan'—an embroidered quilt of hope and dreams.

We will be making a quick stop in Petaling Jaya, as the amazing Alegria Creativity has invited us to host a workshop at their beautiful space, Harmony Hall.

We invite you to join us as fellow travelers in our caravan of hope. This traveling quilt will journey from community to community, city to city, and country to country throughout 2024, with each group contributing their hopes and dreams through stitching. Let's add Petaling Jaya to the list of cities on this quilt.

This collaborative project aims to unite communities, fostering connection and solidarity while creating a tangible representation of shared aspirations.

Join us on: Saturday, 10th August 2024, 2-5 pm at Harmony Hall PJ, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

Spots are limited, and each person will be provided with a kit. We appreciate a small donation of RM50/pax to help our group defray our traveling costs. To participate, write to alegria.cop@gmail.com.

No sewing or embroidery experience is required; you will be taught everything you need to know to add your hopes, dreams, and wishes to this traveling quilt.
